The players and officials embarked on their return journey from Florida, United States, and arrived at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport today by a private airline flight.

The individuals that returned were Naseem Shah, Usman Khan, and Senior Manager Wahab Riaz. However, skipper Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Imad Wasim, Azam Khan, and Mohammad Amir were not among those who returned. Babar intended to go Pakistan on a subsequent occasion, specifically on June 22.

Following the completion of the World Cup assignment, Head Coach Gary Kirsten intends to go back to his residence, while Amir intends to prolong his stay in the United States for a few days before travelling to England to join the Derbyshire.

The global competition posed a formidable challenge for the ‘Green Shirts’, since they were unable to go beyond the league stage. The team suffered an unexpected loss to the United States and also relinquished a match to India, a game that they initially had the advantage in. These two setbacks hindered their progress to the Super 8 stage, resulting in a dismal conclusion to their campaign.
