Jordan’s star player Musa Al-Taamari scored twice and Ali Olwan scored once against Pakistan. After Musa and Ali took Jordan a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes, Pakistan’s defence held firm to prevent a thrashing by the Asian Cup finalists. Jordan is third in Asian qualifier Group G with four points.

After losing three straight, winless Pakistan remains last. Pakistan will travel to Jordan on March 26 for the away match. To qualify for the World Cup, the Shaheens must win their final three games, including against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan.
