Pakistan fell two spots to seventh in the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 rankings on Friday, according to the yearly update. The revised T20I standings show India (264) leading by seven points over second-placed Australia (257) and third-placed England (252).

South Africa (250) rose from sixth to fourth and is presently two points behind England. West Indies (249), sixth, leads Pakistan by two points. The ICC said in a press release that the rankings update only considers teams’ results after May 2021. Meaning India’s remarkable 2-1 series win over Australia under skipper Virat Kohli in January 2021 is excluded.
All results from May 2021 to May 2023 are weighted 50%, while those from the following year. Plus, it includes Australia’s World Test Championship final victory—are weighted 100%. The ODI rankings remain unchanged with India leading Australia by six points (116).
Third-placed South Africa (112) is four points behind Australia, while Pakistan (106) and New Zealand (101) are also in the top five. The top 10 teams include Bangladesh (86), Afghanistan (80), West Indies (69), and Sri Lanka (93) in seventh place, two points behind England (95).
The World Test Championship final at The Oval last year saw Australia replace India at the top of the Test rankings with a 209-run win. Also, India (120) is second, four points behind Australia, and England (105) is third in the ICC Test rankings.
